The Battle of Cable Street is one of the most notable hitoric events that took place on the 4th of October, 1936 in East London. The protest was between the Metropolitan Police and the member of the British Union of Fascists. A march took place that day led by Oswald Mosley and other anti-fascist demonstrators. The march which was supposed to be a peaceful event turned to be hostile as the anti-fascist demonstrators started creating blockades on the road and preventing the march from going forward.
This event ended by injuring about 175 police officers, men, women, and children. The news of the event became widespread and each year this day is marked with great importance.
